It has a rugged IPX5-rated water-resistant frame. It is impervious to low-pressure water jet sprays, and can take a splash or two. It can withstand a light drizzle, but must not be exposed to pouring rain.

The soundbar has a built-in Class D amplifier. It boosts the incoming audio signal and infuses it with enough power to drive the loudspeakers. Class D amps are more efficient than traditional Class A/B amps. They have a high-speed switching mechanism that uses less energy and produces less heat. As a result, you have a cooler in-unit temperature, and you get a more powerful audio output with noticeably deeper bass.

The BOSS Audio BRT27A has dual means of playing songs. It has Bluetooth 4.1 technology for Wireless Music Streaming. It works with Pandora, Spotify, etc, and has a Bluetooth range of 33 feet.
