Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones For Running

The Bose SoundSport wireless headphones are built for action. Whether running in marathons or lifting weights in the gym, they always have your back. Resistant to sweat and rain, the earphones keep you relaxed and focused while you work out. You can take incoming calls hands-free and control the settings through the Bose Connect app. The battery is rechargeable and runs up to 6 hours on a full charge. The USP of the device, however, is that it works with Tile, an app that helps locate misplaced wireless headphones. So, in case you can’t it, just Tile it!

Now let us do a deep-dive into the technological details and audio performance of the headset.

Technology and Design

The Bose SoundSport earbuds are among the most sought-after headphones for jogging. They have an IPX4 water and sweat-resistant construction. The acoustic ports are strategically positioned to keep out water and sweat while a hydrophobic cloth prevents moisture from building up inside the device. The earpieces have a comfy in-ear design for an intimate fit. They come pre-fitted with a pair of grey medium-sized StayHear+ Sports tips. These tips are made of a special soft silicone material which helps create a gentle seal at the entrance of the ear canal. It locks in the music and blocks ambient sounds. Each tip has an extended flexible wing that fits under the ear ridge. You need to pull back the bud and tuck the tip wing under the ear ridge till it snaps into place. Two extra pairs of StayHear+ Sports tips, one small (white) and the other large (black), are provided to fit different ear sizes.

The earphones charge via USB and includes a USB cable. You can use a wall charger or the USB port of a laptop/desktop. Charging time is 2 hours and battery life on a full charge is 6 hours.

The right earpiece has the power/Bluetooth button, the USB connector and Bluetooth and battery indicators. A clothing clip attached to the cord helps you clip it in place. This ensures the headphones don’t move too much while you are exercising.

Controlling the functions of the gadget is fairly simple – you can either use the in-line remote or do it through the Bose Connect app. The in-line remote has two buttons for volume adjustments and a multi-function central button for all other settings. Pressing the multi-function button once plays/pauses the audio, pressing it twice in quick succession takes you to the next song, and pressing it thrice takes you back to the previous song.

To personalize your settings, you can download the Bose Connect app on your Android or iOS phone. You can update the headphone’s software, set the standby timer and even change the voice prompt language through the app. For added safety, we recommend you use the Tile app. It is a smart way to make sure you never lose your device.

The Bose SoundSport running earbuds have Bluetooth and NFC connectivity. To pair via Bluetooth, you need to press and hold the power/Bluetooth button till you hear the audio prompt ‘Ready to pair’ and the Bluetooth indicator blinks blue. You then have to select Bose SoundSport on your phone’s Bluetooth feature. On successful pairing, the gadget announces ‘Connected to <device name>’ and the Bluetooth indicator turns white. The headphones can save up to 8 Bluetooth devices on its pairing list and can be connected to a maximum of two devices at a time. However, you can only play audio from one device at a time.

The SoundSport makes handling calls easy. To receive an incoming call or end an ongoing call, you need to press the multi-function button once. To decline a call, you need to press and hold the button. Likewise, there are different functions of the same button to answer a second incoming call and put the current call on hold, decline a second incoming call to stay on a current call, switch between calls, create a conference call, activate voice control and mute/unmute calls. Please refer the user manual to know the exact functions.

Taking good care of the earbuds ensures longevity. To clean the tips, remove them from the buds and wash with a mild detergent and water. Dry them completely before attaching them to the buds. The headphone nozzles must never be cleaned with water. Just wipe them gently with a soft cotton swab to remove any dirt.
