FAQ Section

How do I hook up a soundbar to my golf cart?

A golf cart soundbar is pretty easy to install. If it is an active bar, it just needs to be plugged into a power source. If it is a passive soundbar, which is rare, it needs to be hooked up to an amplifier in addition to a power outlet.

Before you buy a soundbar for your golf cart, decide where you want to set it up. It must be a spot that gives you the best sound and requires minimal drilling/modifications to the vehicle. The mounting hardware must be compatible with the cart. Note the diameter range of the clamps and then check if the rods on your golf cart are within that range. Alternately, you can screw the soundbar to the roof of your cart or an overhead bar.

If you are installing the product on the top-front support bar, you will need to drill holes in the front roof bracing. Keep the cart in the tow position and connect the power wire to the battery. Then make a small hole in the dash to install the speaker on/off switch.

Is it better to use a golf cart speaker or install a golf cart soundbar?

The answer to this question depends on what you are looking for. If you want a device that’s portable, wireless and self-powered, you should go for a Bluetooth golf cart speaker. If you want bigger sound with HD clarity and surround sound effect, a soundbar fits the bill better. The difference between the two gadgets really lies in their sound performance and physical size. One has standard sound but is compact and portable while the other has massive audio but is bulky and stationary. If you want to be able to pack off the speaker after use and take it home with you, a Bluetooth golf cart speaker would serve you well. But if you don’t mind the speaker remaining back in the vehicle, a soundbar is perfect.

The other option for golf cart speakers is marine speaker pods or box speakers. These speakers need a receiver/radio/stereo/amp to power them and feed them with signal. Their forte is high-volume sound with plenty of bass and sweet highs. Box speakers can go in an overhead radio console or function as stand-alone speakers in the rear corners of the roof. They are slightly complicated than a soundbar in terms of installation but have amazing sound. Most importantly, they are easy to upgrade. You can choose to replace individual parts as required. For instance, if you want more power, you can get a new, more powerful amp. If you want superior sound, just get new speakers. In case of a soundbar though, whether you want more power or better sound, the entire soundbar has to be replaced because the speakers and amp are housed in the same unit and often, they are impossible to separate and upgrade individually.

  2. How does the bass sound on the Bazooka BPB-24? If the base is not enough is there an option to add a subwoofer to give it a little bit more bump on the base?

    Reply
    • Hi Robert, the bass is ok on Bazooka BPB-24. If you still wants to push the level, you can do so by adding a subwoofer through the aux out jack on the bar.
